Born in Tehran, Iran, I came to the United States alone at the age of nineteen. My experience with trauma, war, oppression, and revolution in my own country led me to psychotherapy as a way of understanding and processing the effects of trauma..
I have more than a decade of experience working in New York City public schools and providing social and emotional support for urban youth who have struggled with poverty, injustice, and abuse.
I offer a mixture of talk therapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR, and Reiki. I take a holistic approach, see my work as a partnership, and believe everyone has the tools and wisdom to be happy.
I work with clients who want to explore their different inner parts, find more wholeness, and heal. I focus on issues of trauma, self-esteem, healthy relationships, addiction, anxiety, LGBTQ+-issues, polyamory/non-monogamy, systemic oppression, immigration, and dissociation. Together we can change the narrative around mental health.
I also enjoy writing literary non-fiction and working on another memoir. You can read some of my writing through the link above “published work” as well as “Blog.”
