My clinical work has always been accompanied by creative pursuits, in particular, writing. I have written and published poetry, articles, and am currently working on a full-length memoir about growing up in and leaving Iran.

“My Name Means Fire”:

My memoir about growing up in and leaving Iran deals with living through the Iran-Iraq War, my personal experiences with abuse and trauma, escaping an arranged marriage, coming to America alone, and the journey to finding the life that I had always hoped for.

I have written different types of journalistic articles, mostly on current events relating to Iran: “We Children of the Revolution” was published by CounterPunch magazine: read article.
